Information Points in the Biosphere Reserve

As well as the Biosphaerium Elbtalaue in Bleckede and the Ark Centre in Neuhaus, there are three other information points supported by the biosphere reserve administration. They are to be found in Gartow, Dannenberg and Preten. Visitors will find a wide range of information on all aspects of the reserve, from sightseeing to news of coming events, exhibitions, local guided tours and nature trails, as well as some important ‘dos and don’ts’ which need to be borne in mind.

Storkenkate Information Point in Preten

The ‘Sudewiesen’ project managed by the Stork Foundation is devoted to the white stork (Ciconia ciconia). The information point in Preten is open to the public, and it is also the coordinating centre for scientific studies. mehr

Dannenberg Information Point

In the ‘Altes Rathaus’ – the Old Council House – in Dannenberg you can now hear the voices of the local population of frogs and toads, including the brightly coloured fire-bellied toads. mehr

Gartow Information Point

The Information Bureau in Gartow is also the district tourist information bureau. You can obtain information about the biosphere reserve, suggestions for day trips and find out about guided tours. mehr
